Leadership 400:  The Keystone Series is now accepting applications.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to experience the day to day struggles that others face? The people you work with, the people you go to school with and the people you interact with every day?

This spring, participants in The Keystone Series will have the opportunity to challenge themselves and think outside of their leadership box regarding prevalent social justice issues facing our world today. It's a chance for you to see life from someone else's perspective, yet immerse yourself into that life, thus providing you a chance to find some answers for yourself about whether you are who you want to be.

Part social justice and part social experiment, this unique 5-part series will use video and informal discussion to challenge you and expose you to aspects of life as lived by others.

In the spring semester, five sessions will take place on Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in Sykes Union. The specific dates are February 3rd, February 10th, February 17th, February 24th, March 2nd, and March 23rd.  The link to register is: https://orgsync.com/29326/forms/173417

Alice's Circle (A highly selective Women's Mentoring Program for WCU Seniors)

Women in Leadership and Services (WILS) is a committee comprised of alumnae, friends, faculty, and staff. Its mission is to increase funding that supports women students at WCU, empowers women to utilize philanthropy as a method of impacting future generations of WCU women, and increases the visibility of women leaders, mentors and supporters of WCU. WILS created a highly selective Women’s Mentoring Program (Alice’s Circle) for WCU Seniors and they are looking for applicants!

Alice’s Circle was created to enhance the growth of college women leaders as they transition from their final semester as an undergraduate through the first few months of graduate school or professional career.  A select number of high achieving and academically talented college women with be mentored by professional women over the course of 10 months covering a variety of topics from resume writing, interviewing skills to work/life integration, financial wellness and communication and negotiating skills.

Mentoring is an essential leadership component that will provide you with the opportunity to learn a variety of life skills/topics from a trusted and influential professional woman.

These college women leaders must commit to meeting with their mentors monthly for an hour and have several face-to-face scheduled meetings with Linda Hoffman Casotti, Program Coordinator & WCU alumna, to ensure they are actively participating in this initiative.  The monthly meeting will take place at a mutually convenient location for both the mentor and mentee.  This past years participants have met over coffee, lunch, dinner and video conferencing. Participants will also be required to attend the first meeting held in February 2016 and the program’s closing meeting in late November/early December 2016.

Please note that a copy of your current resume is required as part of the application process. This program is geared towards high achieving women leaders in their senior year (graduating spring 2016) at WCU.

Complete the application via OrgSync by Friday, November 20, 2015 at Noon. Here’s the link: https://orgsync.com/29326/forms/167889
