About OCCA

In 1975, West Chester University (then known as West Chester State College) students founded the Off Campus & Commuter Association (then known as the Off Campus Student Association). Over 35 years later, OCCA continues its work to serve the off-campus and commuter students at WCU.

The purpose of OCCA is to act as a representative student government body for all undergraduate off campus and commuting students at West Chester University.  In this capacity, OCCA will work to:

  1. Lobby the administration to address the needs and concerns of the off campus or commuting student,
  2. Investigate issues that confront the off campus or commuting student and provide information about these issues,
  3. Make recommendations to the University, other student organizations, and campus and non-campus communities concerning their issues,
  4. Promote full understanding between off campus or commuting students and the rest of the campus and non-campus communities,
  5. Lobby for and/or provide services and programs in the campus and non-campus communities intended for off-campus or commuting students.

We welcome all students to join OCCA every Wednesday at 12:00pm in Sykes Student Union. Feel free to click on the "Contact Us" tab to ask us any questions, or stop by our office in 219 Sykes Student Union! Our doors are always open!
