Schedule of Events
SOAR is a highly interactive program spread out over two days. It is intended for all new students including first-year students and transfer students! Students will participate in community service, learn about leadership, and set personalized goals. SOAR sets a student on the right path to succeed at West Chester University.
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2014
10 AM – Check-In & Breakfast (Sykes Student Union Ballrooms)
10 AM – Welcome, Introductions, & Overview of Program
10:30 AM – Icebreakers
11 AM – Community Service Assignments
11:30 AM – Boxed Lunch & Traveling to Service Site (transportation provided)
12:30 PM – Community Service (Borough of West Chester)
3:30 PM – Reflection & Snack (Sykes Student Union Ballrooms)
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2014
9:30 AM – Arrival & Breakfast (Sykes Student Union Ballrooms)
10 AM – Keynote Speaker: Kristin Skarie
4 PM – FREE STUFF! Giveaways and Prizes
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR ON THE DAY(S) OF THE EVENT?
Saturday will involve a community service component that may take place outside. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes (no flip flops).
The keynote facilitator on Sunday will be providing an action-packed experience throughout the day. We encourage you to wear comfortable shoes, nice jeans / shorts and top.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO THE EVENT?
Nothing! Everything you need will be provided.
